It’s time for the final stop on the hunt for The Gulf Coast Triple Crown title, the Blue Marlin Grand Championship takes place July 14 + 15. The Greatest Show in Sportfishing is one of the largest and most prestigious fishing tournaments in the Gulf of Mexico, attracting anglers from all over the world, and it is held right here at The Wharf.
The main target species for the Blue Marlin Grand Championship is, as the name suggests, blue marlin. Anglers compete to catch the largest blue marlin while going for prizes awarded for the heaviest fish in each category.
Schedule of events:
Wednesday, July 12
- 9-11 pm: Kick Off After-Party at The Boat Bar, presented by Tito’s Handmade Vodka featuring the St. Jude Triple Crown Fighting Chair Challenge presented by Release Marine
Thursday, July 13
- 10 am: Boats depart from The Wharf Marina following “A Work of Art” headed east to Perdido Pass
- Noon - Shot gun start
Friday, July 14
- 5-7 pm: Tournament Weigh-In hosted by Jim Cox + Kelly Finley
Saturday, July 15
- 5-8 pm: The Greatest Show in Sportfishing Tournament Weigh-In hosted by Jim Cox + Kelly Finley
And to cap off the exciting week, The Wharf Amphitheater will be rocking on Saturday night with Parker McCollum and special guests Morgan Wade + Dalton Dover.
