Wharf Concert Guide

June 26, 2019

Maybe you’re already planning a few trips to The Wharf Amphitheater, or maybe you’re still on the fence. Whatever the case, you came to the right place for a quick refresher about our biggest concert venue—which just earned a nomination for Venue of the Year (Medium Capacity) from the Academy of Country Music, by the way.

Before you attend one of the best venues on the Gulf Coast, you might have a few questions. What concerts are coming up soon? Why should I go to an event at The Wharf? How do I get tickets? What should I wear? What is there to do before or after the concert? Is there anything I can’t bring to the venue? There’s a lot to know before you visit us for a concert, so we’re here to help. Let us answer each of those for you now.

The Why: Why should you attend a concert here? Well, The Wharf is more than just a music venue. We also offer shopping, entertainment, food, drinks, and on top of all that, we book amazing artists. Plus attending an event here will give you lifelong memories.

The Events: You might be curious about the artists we have coming up in the 2019 C Spire Concert Series. If so, you’ve got a lot to be excited for! Here’s a peek at our upcoming concert schedule, which you can also find on our calendar, which includes all of the events happening at The Wharf.

Here’s who you can look forward to seeing this summer during our 2019 C Spire Concert Series:
July 3rd - Tedeschi Trucks Band With Special Guest: Blackberry Smoke and Shovels & Rope
July 5th - Rascal Flatts With Special Guest: Jimmie Allen
July 19th & 20th - Luke Bryan With Special Guest: Cole Swindell, Jon Langston, and DJ Rock
August 17th - Little Big Town With Special Guest: Midland
August 20th - Pentatonix With Special Guest: Rachel Platten
August 22nd - Brad Paisley With Special Guest: Chris Lane and Riley Green
August 31st - Chris Stapleton With Special Guest: Brent Cobb and The Marcus King Band
September 28th - Lynyrd Skynyrd With Special Guest: Cody Jinks

If those names don’t get you excited for some live music, we don’t know what will! You better get to buying your tickets now, because we sell out shows pretty often over here.

The How: If we’ve persuaded you to attend a show here at The Wharf Amphitheater, you need to know how and where to get those tickets. You can purchase tickets online through Ticketmaster, at all Ticketmaster outlets, Ticketmaster charge by phone, or by purchasing them in person at The Wharf Amphitheater Box Office between 10am and 4pm on weekdays and 10am to 10pm the day of a concert. (Patrons who require special assistance can contact the box office with any questions at 251-224-1020.) To charge tickets by phone call Ticketmaster at 800-745-3000.

The Don’t: Maybe there’s a chance of rain the night of your concert. Maybe you’re thinking about bringing your baby with you. Maybe you just love big purses! In any case, you need to know what you can’t bring into The Wharf Amphitheater. Here are the non-approved bags and prohibited items:

Non-Approved Bags Prohibited Items
• Backpack - NO Weapons
• Binocular cases - NO Umbrellas
• Camera cases - NO Outside Beverages, Food, Alcohol
• Diaper bags - NO Video or Audio Recorders
• Fanny packs - NO Laser Pointers
• Mesh bags - NO Strollers
• Oversized tote bags - NO Illegal Drugs
• Pattern plastic bags
• Tinted plastic bags

And don’t forget, only clear bags will be permitted during concerts, and there’s no re-entry either. Also, stadium seats must be 19” wide and 19” tall or less, and no arm rests or cupholders are allowed.

The Wear: It’s summer. It’s Alabama. It’s HOT! But it’s also very unpredictable. Perhaps the weather app on your phone keeps changing its mind about whether it’s going to rain and you don’t even know what to wear anymore.
Firstly, you should wear whatever you want. It’s a concert! Secondly, here are a few tips we think are good to go by when planning a trip to an outside concert venue.

1. Wear something comfortable and cool!
2. Comfy shoes!
3. Just in case the weather changes, bring a poncho or a rain jacket. Once you’re inside there is no re-entry.

The Before/After: If you’re attending an amazing concert at The Wharf, don’t just stay at home before and after. Take full advantage of everything The Wharf has to offer!

Before the concert, enjoy one of our many activities like shopping, dining, riding the Ferris Wheel, or even ziplining or attending a marina excursion. Then, once the concert is over, head over to Sandshaker or Island Time Daiquiris to keep the party going (if you’re old enough to party, of course). And if you do stick around for a few drinks, please find a sober driver to take you home!
Put on your dancing shoes and come see us soon!
