Join Us for The Wharf's First Ever Chalk Art Festival

November 6, 2019

Fall is the perfect time to get out of the house with the whole family, isn’t it? And we have just the event this weekend! A new event for The Wharf, in fact: our first ever Chalk Art Festival!

This artful event will feature a kaleidoscope of colors down Main Street. And our theme for this event is an Ocean theme! So if you’re an ocean lover, a sea captain, or even a mermaid, come out and draw your sea life inspirations along Main Street and bring the whole area to life with your creations!

For those wanting to participate, you can draw your own sidewalk masterpiece for only $5! You can compete individually or in groups up to 4 people. We will provide the chalk pastels for you, and you’ll get 4 pieces per person. You do have the option to bring your own chalk if you would like, as long as it is washable.

What’s at stake for the competitors, you may ask? We will have some pretty amazing prizes to give out! Prizes will be awarded for the best design in each category. The categories are divided up by age group: 5-10, 11-14, and 15 and older. The judging will start at 1pm.

Don’t forget, there will be other fun things to do here at The Wharf during our Chalk Art Festival! We’ll have a bouncy house, face painting, and even a painting class. And if you want to see what a true sidewalk masterpiece looks like, we will have some professional chalk artists visiting from Atlanta to participate. We promise you won’t want to miss their artwork—some of their art will even be in 3D!

We hope to see everyone this Saturday, November 9th for our inaugural Chalk Art Festival! The festivities will last from 10am to 2pm, and don’t miss the judges’ scores at 1pm. Register ahead of time by clicking here.
