The Orange Beach Billfish Classic is an annual fishing tournament held at The Wharf in Orange Beach, AL. It's the kick off of the Gulf Coast Triple Crown Championship, which is a series of high-profile tournaments held along the Gulf of Mexico. The tournament allows anglers to win cash prizes and bragging rights.

Anglers compete to catch billfish such as blue marlin, white marlin, and sailfish. The tournament also features categories for tuna, wahoo, and dolphin.

The most exciting part… kids will be able to touch and feel the fish that are brought in on Friday! Be sure to catch all the action taking place at the Marina and Marlin Circle May 19 + 20.

The final stop on the hunt for The Triple Crown title is The Greatest Show in Sportfishing, The Blue Marlin Grand Championship on July 14 + 15. It is one of the largest and most prestigious fishing tournaments in the Gulf of Mexico, attracting anglers from all over the world and held right here at The Wharf.

The main target species for the Blue Marlin Grand Championship is, as the name suggests, blue marlin. Anglers compete to catch the largest blue marlin they can. There are also prizes awarded for the heaviest fish in each category, as well as overall prizes for the top anglers and teams.

The most amazing part... this tournament benefits St. Jude Children's Research Hospital with over $160,000 raised to date!

Apart from the fishing itself, both tournaments offer a range of social events including live music, and other activities for the entire family to enjoy.

The Orange Beach Billfish Classic and Blue Marlin Grand Championship have a strong conservation focus and encourages anglers to practice catch and release whenever possible. The tournament works closely with the Billfish Foundation and other organizations to promote responsible fishing practices and to protect the marine environment.

We can’t wait to see what YOU catch this year… see you here!
