The Wharf Boat & Yacht Show Coming In March

February 18, 2016

Orange Beach, AL — “It’s Off The Chart” that is how the Wharf Boat and Yacht Show has been described by exhibitors and attendees alike. Each spring brings about the beginning of boating season and also one of the most popular and well-attended events on the Gulf Coast, The Wharf Boat and Yacht Show. Every square foot of exhibitor space, dockage and on-land boat display space has been sold out for months in anticipation of the premiere boat show on the Gulf Coast.

A boat show with more than 600 boats on display, worth more than $90 million dollars is a special event. Put those 600 hundred boats on display at The Wharf in Orange Beach and you have an extra-special event. If those 600 boats were lined up end-to-end, they would stretch for more than three and a half miles! With shopping, dining, nightlife and a full-service marina, The Wharf Boat and Yacht Show provides something for the entire family.

The Wharf Boat and Yacht show is also a major economic force in Baldwin County. With more than $30 million dollars in boat sales in the last two years, this show brings out the best in boat manufacturers, dealers and buyers. “Hands down, this show is the best,” said Forrest Long of Bluewater Yacht Sales in Mobile and Orange Beach. “The collective product on display brings out serious buyers and all of the dealers move a lot of inventory while at The Wharf.”

The red carpet is rolled out as the show kicks off Thursday, March 17th at 2:00 p.m. with the ex-clusive VIP-only preview party, ‘Stars over Alabama.’ This can't-miss ‘see and be seen' signa-ture party that has become the hottest boat show ticket of the year. “The VIP Event is my favor-ite day of the boat show,” said annual boat show attendee Marty Kennedy of Daphne, AL. “It’s great to walk that red carpet and then see all the boats before the show even opens.”

Friday, March 18th is 'Locals Day' with discounted tickets for just $7 for everyone with a local ID at the gate. Show hours are 10:00 am to 7:00 pm. “Locals are so much a part of The Wharf that we wanted to give all of our local friends a special day at the show,” said Scott Burt, President of The Wharf Boat and Yacht Show.

The Wharf Boat and Yacht Show is the only boat show in the country with a day dedicated to the ladies. On Saturday, March 19th ladies will be pampered with special treatment from the time they arrive until they leave. Ladies enter on the Red Carpet at the Main Street entrance and can register for an exclusive ‘For Ladies Only Prize Package.’ One lucky lady will win two tickets to see Chris Young at the Wharf Amphitheater, a $500 Lucca gift card and $200 Wharf Marina Outfitters Store clothing package. Also, there will be a swimwear photoshoot with Access Maga-zine, fashion and make-up consultants on hand to offer expert advice and the annual fashion show from Lucca is at 1:00 PM on Saturday on the Bridgewalk.

The show concludes on Sunday with 'Lagniappe Sunday' from 10 am to 5 pm with Cajun music, food and fun.

Throughout the four-day event, there will be fishing and boating seminars, kids art classes as well exhibitor displays from world's best boating, fishing, watercraft, marine electronics and ac-cessory companies. There will also be live music daily and the Triple Crown Fighting Chair Chal-lenge raising money for St. Jude Children's Hospital.
