February 10, 2017

Coming off a record-setting 2016 which saw more than $21 million in inventory sold, The Wharf Boat and Yacht Show returns to Orange Beach March 23 - 26, 2017. In addition to record sales in 2016, the show drew over 12,000 attendees as well 39 dogs.

Next month, local dealers and national manufacturers will display 160 in water yachts and more than 600 boats on trailers totaling over $110 million dollars of marine inventory, a record for this show at The Wharf.
The Wharf Boat and Yacht show continues to expand its footprint within The Wharf, the premier destination resort and marina on Alabama's Gulf Coast. This spring, the show has added 50,000 square feet of new outdoor exhibitor display space. This additional space has created an opportunity for new and existing deal-ers to showcase the latest boat models, as again this year all of the exhibitor space has been sold-out for months.

"2017 marks a year of tremendous growth for our show," said Chris Miller, of The Wharf Boat and Yacht Show. "The success of this show is a result of our exhibiting dealer partners, delivering the absolute best of the best in the boating market to Orange Beach. Our partnership has transformed this show, in just a few short years, from a local show to a regional event that attracts boat buyers from the entire Southeast and

"The Wharf Boat and Yacht Show continues to expand and with that growth this show has shifted the pur-chasing habits of boat buyers from not only the Gulf Coast but places like Atlanta, New Orleans, Nashville and the Florida Panhandle," said Andrew Jones, a partner with American Marine Brokerage. "Buyers now know, the boats they are interested in are available in Orange Beach.”

This year The Wharf Boat and Yacht Show will also grow into the Orange Beach Event Center with 20,000 square feet of climate-controlled exhibit space. The Orange Beach Event Center is located next to the new Marriott SpringHill Suites Hotel at The Wharf. Inside the Event Center will be the Lifestyle & Marine Center, which will feature merchandise and seminars for boaters and fisherman as well as something for everyone who enjoys the Gulf Coast lifestyle.

An annual highlight of the show, and the most desired ticket of the weekend, is when the red carpet is rolled out commencing the official show opening. Thursday, March 23rd at 2:00 p.m. the exclusive VIP, invitation only, preview party, ‘Stars over Alabama’ will again be the 'opening ceremonies' for the show. The red car-pet, champagne and celebratory photo opportunities each year attract local celebrities as well as interna-tional stars from the boating and yachting industry.

The public opening of the show is Friday, March 24th which is also 'Locals Day' with discounted tickets for just $7 for everyone with a local ID at the gate. Show hours are 10:00 am to 7:00 pm.

Another exclusive event at The Wharf Boat and Yacht Show is 'Ladies Day.' As the country's only boat show to have a special day honoring women, Saturday, March 25th will be a day dedicated to the ladies. Female guests will arrive on the Red Carpet at the Main Street entrance and can register for an exclusive ‘For Ladies Only Prize Package.’ Saturday’s highlights include a swimwear photoshoot with Access Maga-zine, fashion and make-up consultants on hand to offer expert advice and the annual fashion show from Lucca takes place at 1:00 PM. The show concludes on Sunday with 'Lagniappe Sunday' from 10 am to 5 pm with Cajun music, food and fun.

Throughout the four-day event, there will be fishing and boating seminars, kids art classes as well exhibitor displays from world's best boating, fishing, watercraft, marine electronics and accessory companies. There will also be live music daily and the Triple Crown Fighting Chair Challenge raising money for St. Jude
Children's Hospital.
