Sausage Pinwheels Appetizer

This is the perfect finger food or brunch treat to get the Holiday party started!

Ingredients

  • 1 lb ground sausage
  • 1 (8 oz) package of cream cheese
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1/4 cup chopped green onions
  • 1 (8-count) package crescent rolls

Method

  1. Cook the sausage over medium heat in a skillet, breaking it up with a spatula as it cooks. Drain off any excess grease.
  2. In a medium bowl, combine the cream cheese, garlic powder + green onions. Stir until well combined.
  3. Unroll the crescent rolls and place them on a piece of parchment paper. Do not separate the rolls.
  4. Spread the sausage mixture over the crescent rolls, leaving a 1-inch border around the edges.
  5. Starting from the long side, roll up the crescent rolls tightly.
  6. Wrap the roll in the parchment paper and then in plastic wrap. Freeze for at least 1 hour.
  7. Preheat the oven to 375 degrees F.
  8. Remove the roll from the freezer and unwrap it. Cut the roll into 1/4-inch thick slices.
  9. Place the slices on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
  10. Bake for 10-12 minutes, or until golden brown.

Crock Pot Crawfish Chowder

This course is sure to keep your taste buds dancing all day long!

Ingredients

  • 1 stick of butter
  • 2 lbs crawfish tail meat
  • 2 cans cream of potato soup
  • 2 cans cream of mushroom soup
  • 2 cans drained whole kernel corn
  • 1 brick cream cheese softened
  • 1 pint of half and half
  • cayenne pepper to taste
  • old bays seasoning to taste
  • chili powder to taste

Method

  1. In a large skillet, melt butter with minced garlic then sauté crawfish in mixture for 20 minutes.
  2. Spray crock pot with non stick spray .
  3. Add all ingredients into crock pot and turn on low.
  4. Combine all ingredients by stirring, then add sautéed crawfish to crock pot.
  5. Cook on low for 4-6 hours, stirring occasionally.

*This is amazing served in bread bowls or with saltine crackers

Ingredients

  • ½ pound (2 sticks) unsalted butter, melted and just warm to the touch
  • ¾ cup packed light brown sugar
  • ½ cup granulated sugar
  • 1 egg
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
  • 1 ¾ cups all-purpose flour
  • 2 tablespoons nonfat milk powder
  • 1 ¼ teaspoons kosher salt
  • ½ teaspoon baking powder
  • ¼ teaspoon baking soda
  • 12 ounces semisweet chocolate chips

Method

  1. Heat the oven to 375 degrees. With a wooden spoon, mix together the melted butter and sugars in a large bowl, until homogenous, about a minute. Add the egg and vanilla and stir until combined.
  2. Mix in the flour, milk powder, salt, baking powder, and baking soda until just combined. Add the chips and mix until evenly distributed.
  3. Portion 2 ¾ ounce scoops of dough about 2 to 3 inches apart onto a parchment paper-lined baking tray and bake for 10 to 12 minutes, until golden brown. Cool completely on the pan.
